Welcome to the Journey: Weaving the New World
How This Story Arrived
The archetypes in this journey didn’t begin as a framework or a teaching model. Years ago, while writing a novel, there was a passing reference to a manuscript a character had called called Albert’s Manuscript . It was just part of the subplot but . . .
One winter day I asked myself a simple question: “What is in Albert’s Manuscript?”
What followed surprised me. I wrote for six days without planning, outlining, or revising. The story arrived whole, as if it had been waiting. Over time, I realized Albert's journey to the realm of the ancestors and the lessons they taught him formed a structure. The archetypes that emerged there were not characters — they were patterns of human movement. Ways we travel through loss, change, insight, and renewal. Most of us recognize ourselves in all four at different times in our lives.
This journey is a way to notice where you are in the spiral right now — gently, without judgment, and maybe even with a little curiosity and play.
Begin Here — Take the Weaving the New World Quiz
A simple doorway into this journey is the Weaving the World Quiz. It helps you notice which archetype you may be moving through at the moment. There are no right or wrong answers — just reflections.
Explore Your Archetype
When you finish the quiz, simply count how many A’s (The Weeper), B’s (The Walker), C’s (The Watcher), and D’s (The Weaver) you circled. Whichever letter you have the most of is your starting point.

You may recognize pieces of yourself in all four. You may also want to read about each archetype to recognize different times and stages of life when you were passing through these other movements. We move through them fluidly as life unfolds. Feel free to wander.
A Gentle Reminder
There is nothing to fix here. Nothing to become. Only a clearer seeing of where you are — and a little more compassion for the path you’ve walked. There is a fifth Archetype which was not in the original manuscript and is not included in the quiz but that follows us through all the many spirals along which we travel. Personally, I hold this archetype as an ideal, an aspiration sometimes sitting near her and sometimes wondering where she has gone. But she is never gone.
She is The Witness.
